Ojai – Death Investigation

On 11/29/2022, at approximately 4:16 PM, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Communications Center received a telephone call from a male who requested deputies respond to a residence in the 1200-block of Cruzero Street. Ojai – Request for Public Assistance

On 11/10/2022, at approximately 3:00 PM, a male juvenile rode his bicycle across Maricopa Highway and Ojai Avenue when he was struck by a vehicle. After the collision, the driver of the vehicle stopped momentarily but did not render aid to the victim. Camarillo – Tobacco Products Retailer Compliance Check

On November 21, 2022, the Camarillo Police Department Community Resources Unit conducted a multi-location tobacco products compliance check in the city of Camarillo. Compliance checks were conducted at nineteen different locations in the city of Camarillo. The businesses were tested using a decoy under the age of 21, supervised by undercover deputies, to determine whether retailers would sell tobacco products to the decoy without checking for identification. Ojai – Sex Registrant Compliance Sweep

On November 19th, 2022, Sheriff’s detectives conducted compliance checks at the residences of thirty-seven (37) registered sex offenders throughout the city of Ojai and the surrounding unincorporated areas. Thousand Oaks – Narcotics Sales Arrest

During the month of October 2022, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Street Team developed information regarding a drug trafficking organization based in Los Angeles.  This organization was responsible for the distribution of illegal narcotics to residents of Ventura County.  During the course of this investigation, Detectives determined this organization distributed both bulk and user quantities of fentanyl, heroin, methamphetamine and counterfeit pills believed to be laced with fentanyl.  For further information please click the following link: [...]

Ventura County – Phone scam targets Ventura County residents

Citizens in Ventura County have reported receiving calls from telephone numbers (805) 317-4523 and (805) 317-4533.  The caller identified himself through various names such as “Lieutenant Pete” and “Captain Alexander” with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. The unidentified caller is NOT a member of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office and the phone number used is NOT associated with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
