Thousand Oaks – Tobacco Products Retailer Compliance Check

On May 13, 2022, Detectives from the Thousand Oaks Directed Enforcement Unit (DEU), Thousand Oaks Investigations and Ventura County Public Health conducted a multi-location tobacco products compliance check in the city of Thousand Oaks.  The compliance checks were conducted at 16 different locations by utilizing an underage decoy to attempt to purchase tobacco products from the businesses. Ventura County – Inmate Death

On 05/18/2022, at approximately 12:48 PM, deputies at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility contacted Mr. Seth Dees, who appeared to be suffering from a medical emergency inside his cell.  Deputies immediately rendered aid and summoned medical staff.  Ventura Fire Department personnel and Gold Coast paramedics responded to the scene to provide more advanced life-saving efforts.  Life-saving efforts proved unsuccessful, and Mr. Dees was pronounced deceased at the jail.  For further details please click the following link:  https://local.nixle.com/alert/9429597/

Moorpark – Burglary and Vehicle Theft Suspects Arrested

Thousand Oaks – Identity Theft Arrest

On 5/4/22, the victim was working as a clerk at a local 7-Eleven convenience store.  A patron in the store, later identified as Victor Franco, walked into a restricted area for employees only and stole the victim’s wallet.  Franco fraudulently used the victim’s debit card in Agoura and at a gas station in Thousand Oaks.  Deputies from the Thousand Oaks Police Station responded to the gas station and watched video surveillance.  The deputies identified the suspect as Franco, who [...]

Thousand Oaks – Update to Fatal Traffic Collision

On 05/08/2022, a traffic collision occurred in the area of Borchard Road, just west of Los Vientos Drive in the city of Newbury Park.  A male subject was traveling westbound in the bicycle lane on an electric bicycle when he suddenly left the roadway and collided with a fence causing life threatening injuries to his head.  The rider was not wearing a helmet.
