The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is comprised of both sworn personnel and professional employees working together to serve the mission of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.

The employees of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office are held to the highest standard of integrity and good moral character. Because of the responsibilities bestowed upon law enforcement personnel and the absolute requirement of public trust, all prospective employees must undergo a rigorous testing and background examination process, which includes an in-depth personal history statement, and, for specific positions, psychological testing, and a polygraph.
