On April 27, 2024, at about 3:38 p.m., the Ojai Police Department and the Ventura County Fire Department responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic collision on Grand Avenue near the intersection of Lion Street. Upon arrival, emergency personnel discovered the pedestrian was riding a three wheeled rascal scooter at the time of the collision. The pedestrian was airlifted from the parking lot of Nordhoff High School and taken to VCMC for treatment for his injuries. The pedestrian was admitted into the hospital and later succumbed to his injuries.
