Narrative:
The deputy involved in last Saturday’s shooting on the US 101 Freeway in Calabasas has been identified as Noel Juarez, a 22-year veteran of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office. Juarez is currently assigned to the Patrol Services Division in East County.

Juarez has been on paid administrative leave since the incident, which is a standard procedure after a deputy has been involved in a shooting. Juarez returned to regular duty on 1-18-19. The shooting of the suspect, who was a parolee at large and had been involved in an incident of domestic violence earlier on Saturday, is being investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Bureau.
