During the month of November 2021, Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail (SED) detectives began an investigation into Louis Pizzo for the illegal sales and manufacturing of firearms in the city of Camarillo. During the investigation, detectives learned Pizzo’s criminal history prohibits him from owning and or possession any firearms or ammunition.
On November 12, 2021 Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail detectives obtained a signed search warrant for Pizzo’s business and residence. Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail detectives with the assistance of the Camarillo Directed Enforcement Unit and the Sheriff’s Gang Unit, located Pizzo in the city of Camarillo. Detectives executed the search warrant at Pizzo’s business and residence and located multiple firearms and a large quantity of ammunition belonging to Pizzo along with various other items pertaining to the investigation. Additionally, detectives located several “Ghost Gun” firearms and various firearm parts, indicating Pizzo possessed these items to manufacture and distribute illegal firearms. Based on the investigation, Pizzo was arrested and booked for being a convicted felon in possession of an assault rifle, manufacturing assault weapons, felon in possession of body armor, illegal firearms transfer, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition and a felon in possession of a stun gun. Pizzo is currently out of custody on $100,000 bail. He is scheduled for court on November 29, 2021. The Camarillo Special Enforcement Detail is comprised of six plain clothes detectives who focus on efforts that negatively affect the quality of life of the law-abiding citizens of Camarillo. The goal of Camarillo SED is to reduce property and violent crime through investigations and direct enforcement.
